okay we're going to go ahead and get started thank you for I've done because I will figure it out okay and I got a copy of the agenda first thing we need to do is review the minutes of the last meeting coming if you don't mind looking over it there's anything you have questions about did I mess up I don't think I do. never had a chance to look around and question okay the main thing on our agenda to discuss the fentanyl what we decided to do because we have to prove apartment does how are we going to final approval and our hope would be that we can get approval from you so we can take it to a meeting and then get that rolled out I want to share my screen real quick and show you what we've come up with thanks to mr. toll for coming up with this and sharing a just took information that he gave us after we reviewed some videos and hear that day little kid we discussed in our principal meeting I took all that information and put some things together the first movie is what we would do in the classroom because we felt like teachers needed a tool kit because you know House Bill 3908 requires that is r a Texas legislator bill that was passed it's known as Tucker's law and it says that we have to provide frecon instruction for the dangers of opioids pleading addiction to and abuse a synthetic opioid such as fentanyl so we're required to do that in grades six through 12 so this is what we came up with some teachers may be equipped to have or they may have it had experienced it personally someone in their family and so we wouldn't be able to fall back on and we also know to that student I wanted to be able to have our teachers to have a professional non by yeah information to give out so what we did is we went in there that we would have our principles meet with Staffing well we would decide what day what class. We would show this through we would give this to teacher that explains the law of what house bill 3908 is Tucker and then class and it's the video we watched after they watch the video then there is some discussion questions this came directly from me and largest of it for you. this came directly from the website that makes you told Gabe and it was a teacher toolkit and as you can see these questions are pretty General it doesn't bring in a lot of it doesn't like it's not real opinionated just factual unless the kids answer open-ended question so basically what did you learn about fentanyl what would you say to a friend of yours who is planning on trying it what would you say to a friend of yours who offers you a substance and what could you do to share the film that they just watched but the circle of your friends see how can you protect yourself your friends and encouraging them to have a voice in and then we encourage them after the discussion cuz there's a chance concerns to come up because we know the kids are going to say oh my gosh someone so you know at that point we are teachers do students that have concerns her counselors and let our counselors take it over from there there's some additional resources here this is a fentanyl lesson plan and additional information about 30 to 40 minutes for your because when the Natural High website tells them exactly what they can do okay what they can say what they can do it just gives them a guide for those that may not know a lot about fentanyl or and just basically lesson plan so they will have this available and there's even a little quiz I want to take the kids to see how they're paying attention or whatever so that's what we have for our teachers any questions on that or any suggestions don't feel okay with that his teachers will sign up for that natural high you know how to get to email from just a real short on sides of the fence valuable the next thing that we would send out so we would send it out to all parents and grades six through 12 and it's protecting kids from opiate poisoning again becomes down to explaining to Tucker's law why we have to do this and then I just took this exactly from the tool kit on a natural high it tells what fentanyl is important things you need signs of overuse overdose what to do here is a natural high toolkit parents can sign up how to protect your kids like he said it's their information and what they can another video get your free toolkit now that was just resources for parents to use in their home if they need it before you go to sign up if you have further questions please reach out to your child's counselor because you apparently had concerned have seen this I noticed this Behavior but I really don't know what to do or counselor Troi I'm those resources and then I'm here's a guy that parent student training on the dangers are fentanyl this tells us exactly where to go on our qic web page look under your parent Community tab here's a drive for National Drug prevention this link will take you to the Natural High on. have free time on their and a lot of the kids may already be familiar with this cuz I know some of the teachers already teaching is not too high for their classes messersmith in the sixth grade he showing okay all the different options cuz there's a ton of that fentanyl an opioid is required by the state chat comes up with what we're so I'll take it to them it's not if y'all are okay with this layout we might consider I just found out of this Reef Monday night County Superintendent meeting there is a lady in Greenville she just went to bowls and met with their super passed away I'm hungry and she is wanting to go I don't know if we have time to schedule at this year but to look at doing something different now do you have her come out in the impact that it's had on her her family and student and we react to them all the same and we talked to the kids and all that we've also seen a lot of kids that I can think of three up top of my head whose parents have called us because of a concern they had at home that they have taken them from things that happened at home so in that aspect I'm really glad to know that students are comfortable with their parents to have those conversations for they might not be as comfortable with are you Siri what is a beacon Dubuque has a system that we have set up through the district that it's in the counselors and administrators on campus so many alerts every so often when a student violence historical acts that would be considered a threat or violence or self-harm act and there's a fifth one I can't think of what it is and then there's an also a one that comes through if it's urgent so like into goo not answer if they're logged into let's say they have a cell phone on their cell phone anytime too long and yours just are you I taught the teachers that if you're doing something and classic Panic as much how to impacting their student learning in those around them I hate to say it but the ones that are instability they don't distract the others around them they just spend lots of time not in the classroom because they're trying to find that that help wherever that can be whether it's our offense or the clinic or wherever the bathroom so we happens if you know when I was leaving campus while ago I made sure my Administration as I was going to be off and if they were if that came through that they needed to I know that Butler gets into the kids we don't you I mean I have Google class rings but they're not really long they have it this day is psoriasis and the resources we at our campus play we have to just highly encourage someone talk to them so apparently we've had this to the student is having an episode or over the parent can call please the England and they come and then once I do that then they take it was this really serious and then you don't have a choice the time that Parker is crazy I didn't have a choice you did and you were it was great I mean just you reacted great everybody on I couldn't have asked all parties but I will say I feel like every time we've had an incident they've all been that parents of always been very cooperative so I'm really grateful I'm one cancer that I do know that Amy and I have shared in Ocala and I have shared is that our kiddos it.
