Over 300 QISD Ford High School and Thompson Middle School art students participated in the annual QISD District Christmas Card Design Contest. FHS students and TMS students submitted their art designs for the cover. The district Christmas card will be sent to friends of QISD and surrounding school districts with the original artwork displayed on the cover. FHS Art teacher, Sarahlynn Hayden and TMS Art teacher, Ashley Gandy set guidelines which included this year’s theme “A Classic Christmas” and a greeting. “It was definitely hard to choose the top three from the middle school division”, said Ms. Gandy. The top three finalists from each campus were sent to QISD Administration where the winner was chosen by a panel of judges.
“I would like to congratulate Valerie Claudio, 10th grade Ford High School Art I student, for being selected as the winner of the District Christmas card contest,” said Superintendent Jeff Irvin. “I would like to also thank the many art students who submitted their artwork for the contest. It was very difficult to select just one design when we received so many wonderful entries. Congratulations, Valerie!”
