The Quinlan ISD Junior World Affairs Council students attended an event on Monday, August 26, 2019 held in Dallas. Senator Ted Cruz was the keynote speaker for the World Affairs Council luncheon and took time to meet and greet our Quinlan Ford HS students personally. These students gain valuable experience attending these yearly lectures under the guidance of Dr. Maxey Hooks. Hooks said that the students commented aterwards that they were now more aware of what is happening in the world. Dr. Hooks stated that as members of the Council, they are invited to apply to attend one luncheon/speech per semester. QISD was the only district in attendance. He said the students enjoyed the experience.
