Marsha Roton is the FHS Support Staff nominee for QISD's Support Staff Member of the Year. She is a Paraprofessional in the Life Skills department.
Marsha Roton has served Quinlan ISD for 17 years. Before coming to QISD, she worked at the Dallas Center for Developmentally Disabled. "During my time with Dallas Center for Developmentally Disabled, I monitored and trained adults for employment in a workshop. I realized this was my calling."
"Over the years, I have accomplished many things here at QISD that has made me grow as a person. I have volunteered my time at the Fall Festivals and Disability Expos. I am a member of the ACE team and I love helping out in any way that I am needed," she said.
"My philosophy in education, acquired from working in the Special Education Department, is that our students are worthy and deserve the best education we can give them. Whether you are a teacher, cafeteria worker, janitor or office staff, there is always a teaching moment," said Roton.
Marsha Roton is a real asset to our school system. "I love to watch the students interact with each other in the hallway and see how much they are loved in our school and accepted by everyone. Quinlan ISD means so much to me. I have such great memories to share. This has been another fantastic year for me. I still enjoy coming to work every day," she said.
She finishes, "Even though I am usually found in the Life Skills classroom, I do feel that all students enrolled here are my babies and I want the best for each of them. When stepping into this position as a Paraprofessional, I did not know how it would influence the decisions that I make in my own life everyday.
I know that whatever the future holds for me, I will forever be grateful for this opportunity to grow at QISD."
