QISD GIVES BACK TO THE LOCAL FOOD BANK

On Monday, January 19th, 2017, Lake Area Shared Ministries was presented with a check for $500.00 by Dr. Debra Crosby, Superintendent of Quinlan ISD.  Each year the QISD delinquent tax attorney, Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP, provides a check to the district, and in turn, the district chooses a non-profit organization as the recipient of the check.  Gary Cannon, Director of LASM, is pictured receiving the donation on behalf of the Food Pantry.

A note of thanks to Quinlan ISD from Gary Cannon, Executive Director of Lake Area Shared Ministries:

Your food drives and monetary donations help us meet the needs of many families in Hunt County and are very much appreciated.

We at Lake Area Shared Ministries (LASM) Food Pantry would also like to thank the entire QISD staff and students for your support.  All campuses had a hand in making 2016 a great year.  Your support in conducting canned food drives brought in 4,554 cans of food, which is equal to a retail value of $5, 328.85.  Your monetary donations of $2,532.60 will allow us to purchase enough food for two months, which will provide food to over 500 families.

This year, we are adding on to our facility in order to provide monthly food assistance rather than offering assistance only every other month.  This will help our senior citizens and disabled residents who are not able to work to supplement their retirement funds or social security income.

Again, thank you for your support to our food pantry.  There are not enough words to express our thanks and gratitude.  Please know that we will put your donations to good use in assisting those in need of help.  May God continue to bless all of you!

Sincerely,

Gary Cannon
