About QISD
Quinlan ISD is a 3A school district located in North Central Texas in the town of Quinlan, between Greenville and Terrell on SH34. QISD covers an area of 152 square miles in southern Hunt County and is the gateway to beautiful 37,600 acre Lake Tawakoni. Interstate Highway 20 and 30 provide quick, easy access to the Dallas metro area. Our student population is approximately 2,600 . Our mascot is the panther. Our school colors are red, white and blue.

Experience country and lake living at its best! QISD is very convenient in driving distance to several larger cities including: Dallas (about 45 miles), Greenville, Terrell and Rockwall (each less than 20 miles). Texas A&M University at Commerce is approximate 35 miles. Paris Junior College in Greenville, Trinity Valley Community College in Terrell and Eastfield College in Mesquite are easily accessible.
Beautiful Lake Tawakoni is famous for being one of Texas' best fishing lakes and best kept secret. The city of West Tawakoni has been named The Catfish Capitol of Texas. Recreational opportunities include Tawakoni State Park, Thousand Trails Park, Wind Point State Park, Lake Tawakoni Golf Club, West Tawakoni City Park and several lake area marinas providing camping and lake access.
One of Quinlan's most traditional and time honored events is its annual Christmas Parade through downtown Quinlan, which is held on the second Saturday of each December. Downtown Quinlan offers a venue of antique shopping with an old time and historic flare. Economic development boards work to attract businesses. Quinlan ISD and Wal-Mart are the largest employers in the area.
